The workhorse FBO for the Telluride cluster. A 10,000-ft runway at 5,759 ft takes the large-cabin and ULR jets the mesa can't, which then drive ~90 minutes to Telluride.

Many trips booked as Telluride are really Montrose trips — the heavy iron lands here and drives up. Tell us whether catering loads at MTJ or up the hill.

Briefing

What we plan around at MTJ.

Local constraints we build into every delivery window — curfew, customs, slots, transit, and ramp access.

01

The Telluride big-jet alternate.

Most winter MTJ traffic is skiers headed to Telluride, about 1.5 hours by road. Many Telluride trips are really Montrose trips — we plan the delivery around the leg actually carrying passengers.

02

Long runway, no mesa.

10,000 ft at moderate elevation means far fewer aircraft restrictions than Telluride. Heavy iron is at home here, and we pack to the large-cabin galley.

03

Non-towered.

CTAF operations — we coordinate timing with the FBO, not a tower, so the window holds to the briefed slot.

04

Winter peak and de-icing.

Ski-season weekends spike, and de-icing can move departures. Hot items pack in insulated cases rated for a 90-minute hold.

05

International clearance — confirm the port.

Western Slope international traffic commonly clears at Grand Junction or a Front Range field. We confirm the clearance point and stage inbound catering to that leg.

Local sourcing

Around MTJ.

Montrose flights are catered from our Western Slope network. Most MTJ orders are built around Telluride-bound dining or a recurring private-chef spec, with the range of a big-jet galley to work with.

Colorado ranch proteins and game.

Elk, bison, grass-fed beef and lamb from Western Slope ranches — center-of-plate for ski-season dinners.

Telluride-bound restaurant sourcing.

Want a specific dish from a named Telluride or Mountain Village kitchen? We pull MTJ menu requests from restaurants up the hill. Tell us where.

Summer Western Slope produce.

Palisade peaches in season and the rest of the Western Slope harvest through the warm months.

Special-diet lead time.

Kosher, halal, and allergen-controlled meals run on a 24-hour lead — certified sourcing isn't local.
